LF TPM out of phase with the rest of the car

(it's a star trek joke, nm if you don't get it

SO, my front left tpm sometimes just disappears, causing a check tpm error beep and light. It usually persists for one off-on cycle of the car, but by the 2nd off-on, it's gone again. Happens maybe 1/week-ish, depending on how much I drive. It also seems to be more likely on rougher roads, but they aren't required

The car did it once the first week I had it, they checked the sensor itself, and said it was fine. Since it now seems to be possibly linked to bumps, and the sensor itself has been checked, I'm assuming it's the receiver in the car. Anyone point me to good information about where it is/how to get to it? I know these had some TPMS issues that were computer related, but I'm assuming based on how and when this happens, it's not a computer issue but a lose/corroded plug or something.

Anyway, thoughts, advice, etc, pls let me know.

I'd head to an Autozone or something like it to have the code/codes pulled to see if it has set any, then you might just try the "relearn" procedure outlined in your manual to see if that cures the issue.

I have had a similar issue. The only thing that seems constant is high ambient air temperature. I have tried to pull the codes while the DIC shows the issue, but none were retrieved. I have no fix as of yet.

I have a related question. When I start carrying a full size spare (w/TPMS), am I going to have errant signals? I figure that each if wheel/tire's TPMS is separately synched , then the extra will not show up at all. If that is correct, then each time I rotate tires, the spare will again not show up. Does that sound correct?

The spare will not register as long as you go through the relearn process when you rotate the tires.

Its A bad sensor. They can fail just like you describe. Had a bad batch on my car and 3 of them were replaced in the first year.

If it is caused by high temperature, is the offending wheel exposed to the sun when parked on a hot day?
