Looking at buying an SS
Personally i would take 6-8k hhr ss in good condition over $500 broken one, any day of the week, not because i have a lot of money, but because i don't. This one looks really neglected. Possible engine replacement. Most likely suspension is shot. Interior is destroyed.
Says the guy he got it from had a shop do it. I think he got screwed and is just trying to get out of it before he sinks money into it.

he only put 1k (+/-) miles on it. He traded a cobalt ss for it and this happened like 2 weeks later.

I'm considering bringing it back to life. But by the opinions and the more I notice the turbo may end up on my car (assuming its working) and the rest will find homes to people who take care of their cars.

I'm going to disagree with the majority. Interior destroyed? All I see is a ripped seat cover and armrest. The picture of the exterior is too blurry to know anything. The oil leak could be something very simple.
Even if it needs a new engine, if you're able to do the work yourself, it can be done for not too much.
I'm not saying you should definitely buy it, but don't just dismiss it because of a couple pieces of ripped upholstery.

Oh yea. Ive spent way more on worse looking cars.
He came down to 400 and I havent even made it there to haggle yet. He's trying to buy a car Saturday and wants the extra cash.
I can't make the 2 hour drive until my brake calipers get here and i fix that on my ion. They were supposed to be here today but no go on that.
if it doesnt have engine damage I'll probably fix it.
If it has damage I'll part it out.
Trying to find a motor in east texas for these is like pulling teeth. And I mean even finding a reasonably priced l61 is challenging

Other misc fluids. Say I'm in it 2450.
Realistically, what would the value of it be?
It doesnt have brembos. It doesn't have the rpd. No sunroof.
its an automatic.
Would I be able to see 5-6k out of it? I see prices on these anywhere from 3k-9k.
I'd probably get the seat fixed and find another arm rest.
I am capable of doing the work (lsj turbo swapping an 03 ion now actually).
my original plan was to fix it for my girl to get her out of the run down stratus and into something a bit more reliable.
But she doesn't want it. She wants a challenger or charger (we rented an '19 R/T challenger on vacation and she fell in love)
