I'm extremely familiar with the ecos and I figured a bunch of bolt ons to get it low to mid 300s she could have fun 😂

my 06 bolt on ion redline

So finally able to work a time out to go see it. He's been working overtime so schedules have been conflicting.
There was still oil in it.
he topped it off, and it cranks. It just wont turn over.

He is now telling me the turbo made some sort of grinding noise prior to it dying in the middle of the road.
Would the turbo locking up cause it to die/not start?

It could, but now it’s time to decide, lay down your cash and tow it home, or pass on the deal and keep your money.

It's 2 hours from me.
The price included delivery. I dont have a truck or trailer, so I usually rent one. And with that distance it would run me more than what id be paying for the car itself.

If really all it needs is a turbo, that can be a cheapish quick fix.

If hes being honest I can probably trade up for a truck then. Which ive been looking at anyway. But living in texas trucks go for top dollar

A grinding noise... Seems like it would be tough to say where it came from. It may have been, but I wouldn't assume that. A blown out turbo wouldn't keep it from running.

Even collateral damage from a turbo exploding, would be to the charge piping/intercooler, or exhaust. Still should start.

Maybe High Pressure Fuel Pump(HPFP)? Something that failed quickly before an OBD2 test could run.

You didn't check for codes, or emissions readiness, just to see if he's being honest?

I think I'm less interested if you're just a flipper.

I havent actually gone out there yet. We set up a day and time a few times but he kept getting hung up at work.
I have a code reader, I'm going Sunday.

The oil puddle still makes me think something with the block. I'm not exactly taking his word on anything until I have my hands on it. More so exploring options.

I buy ecos to part out generally. Normally ions and cobalts though
