Low Beam Bulb Blowing every 4-12 months

I couldn't find a related post with an answer about my 2006, HHR, LS via search so I created this one.

For reasons I cannot explain, the driver side low beam stops working about once every 4 to 12 months. Only the low beam is affected as the high beams have yet to go out. When I unlocked the car tonight, both the driver side and passenger side headlights turned on (unsure if they use the low or high beam filament). The passenger side has been using the same bulb for years and seems to behave normally

Anyone have suggestions on causation and/or correction? I have a large gorilla hands and changing the light bulb is an ordeal for me. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

DRL is low beams if your car is not a 2006.
The more expensive the bulb the shorter the life. The hotter the light the shorter the life.
Look on the back of the package for life estimates
could be vibration of some sort, hot filament + vibration = failure.

I have the same problem.
the left bulb dies 2 times faster than the right.
always replacing a couple despite the fact that the right bulb is still alive. But I do not throw out the right bulb. Two right bulbs after a while make up a worn pair and take their places on the right and left side. But even in this case, what turned out to be on the left always dies first.
It seems to me that the problem is the uneven electricity of the on-board network. Some kind of abnormal loads on the left wiring harness kill the light bulb.
Electricians do not find a reason.

By the way, the left rear turning light also burns out 3 times more often than the right.
But perhaps the reason is more intensive work. Suddenly I turn left more often than right? Never measured.

It's an 06, LS. I updated the OP to include this in moving forwards.
The light may have increased vibration as that side was involved in a VERY Mild fender bender (their tire and my bumper met at low speed. Caused a total of $400 in damage to 2 cars including a new front bumper cover for me (didn't "need" one but I bought one anyway) and a touch-up of both our bumpers.

I've unsuccessfully attempted to wiggle the light housing on multiple occasions so it might be correlary rather than causative.

The 06, the turn signals are the DRL’s so the impact damage might have caused a loose ground wire issue.

I was thinking of hub/wheel/tire/brake vibration.
On an 06 the only place that could make a difference is the fuses. You could try just replacing both low beam fuses. Either there or the wires/connectors.

Bad bulb socket ? Seem to recall another member having the same problem with burned out headlight bulbs several years ago.
I think their fix was replacing the socket part.

Yes. Definitely check it for corrosion or any signs of water intrusion in the past. My Olds Intrigue was doing this to parking light bulbs (DRL) until I replaced the socket. The corrosion creates additional resistance, which means heat. That can cause shorter life, as well as the hotter bulbs mentioned above.
