I keep an old chain link fence metal post on standby beside my tool boxes. It's about 5 ft long. It will slip over my 1/2 in. and 3/4 in ratchet handles. Just gotta use a little caution because that long of a lever will create some serious torque.

I used some heat from Mapp gas and it got cherry red.. They started sparkling like a glitter stick.. Smelled bad - like a huge fart after eating taco bell and ginger snaps.. All came off but I managed to snap 2.. I came to believe that some jock strap head overtightened them using an impacto wrencho... They're all back on now and suitable to remove should I have to deal with a flat on the hwy one day..

Did you replace the broken studs already?

Anyone wanna bet they were all torqued down properly now?

The proper torque is 100 ft lbs. with a torque wrench then checked at 100 miles.

If you didn't use a torque wrench it doesn't count.

and heating stuff up till "cherry red" now leaves the remaining studs in question.

X2. And the hub bearings could be damaged with that much heat. At the very least, all the old studs and lugnuts that were stuck should be replaced.
Studs that were severely overtorqued are probably stretched and weakened.
