The heavier metallic shavings are most likely down in the oil pan. The lighter aluminum shavings are probably what you saw on the dipstick.
I would suggest a good engine flush or even drop the oil pan and clear it out. Or both. With the amount of sludge buildup noticed in the pictures, at the minimum you should do some sort of flush.

In the cloyes video, it states that the sprocket bolts are torqued to 63 ft/lbs plus another 30 degrees.
In the pdf it says to torque them to 22 ft/lbs plus another 100 degrees.
Is that because of the different type of sprocket?

It's amazing that the bolt heads were so worn, so far from the normal path of the chain. I'm curious what the tensioner looks like. Thinking maybe the chain streched so much, then the end of the tensioner fell out of it's housing.

The 22 ft/ lbs plus a further 100 degrees is for VVT engine.

If the sprockets look ok, don’t change them. If they appear worn, on the old sprockets use a set of vise grips or slip jaw channel lock pliers.
use the 5/32 drift punch to tighten the new sprockets, they get 37 ft/lbs of torque

I was able to go buy a proper 5/32 punch and it worked just fine. They needed to be replaced you can see chunks missing in the pics.
new problem:
The old crankshaft seal didn't come out in one piece and had to pick it out in tiny pieces. I can't get the old seal out along the edge for the new one to go in. I've been using a razor blade to try and pick it out but it doesn't look like I can get it all out.. I'm stuck! Help!
Edit: would I be able to take off the plate on the back of the cover to access the seal that stuck in there or am I SOL on this? I didn't realize the seal went so deep in there.

It is metal around the seal , it should just pry out with a screw driver,
