In mirror compass

Hey gang. I have an intermittent issue with the compass. Sometimes it works, sometimes it displays the wrong direction, sometimes it doesn't change at all. Has anyone else experienced this or am I special? AND what is , if any, the repair procedure?

Have you tried recalibrating it as per pages 2-36/37/38/39 in the Owners manual?

There is a procedure for setting it in the manual, if I remember correctly. I would try that first.

Mine has never been an issue.

Like a lot of things in HHRs it is not a "compass" it is a "magnetic field sensor"; meaning any nearby magnetic field could interfere with it. Like cellphones, computers, motors etc.

I have reset it. it's just that sometimes it is incorrect or doesn't change heading direction at all. Could it be my magnetic personality?
