ok so is there any known issues with the "auto-start" im noticing now after sitting a while the first turn of the key it will start to crank then stop even if i hold the key, then the 2nd turn it will keep cranking... is it the starter? is it something in the ecu?
If I can solve this I'll have a great running and driving car..

Read the Owner Manual (link in my sig). Normal operation is: turn the key to start, let go of the key. The starter will crank until the motor starts or times out. Never hold the key in start.

That's interesting. The fuel pump times out after a certain number of seconds of no start.

Have you tested fuel pressure after the new fuel pump?

Try this - 1st time, just turn it on, do not turn to start. Turn it off after you hear the fuel pump stop, probably just a couple seconds, then turn off. This will build fuel pressure. Then turn to start momentarily and let go. What happens?

Sounds like he's doing it correctly, donbrew, but it stops cranking when the key is released. Have the ignition related recalls been performed? Link in my signature to check.

yep it’s had all recalls serviced, fuel pressure is 60lbs was a +5 lbs compared to the old pump…. And no on the first crank even holding the key it begins to crank then stops, try again and will crank over until I release the key…

only thing I can think is it’s in the ecu or the starter is “on its way out” I don’t wanna spend yet another $199 on a start and it not fix

today I shuffled relays around = no change
checked all the BCM connectors and per one video I watched ran a extra ground from the small module= no change

Is that with turning the key completely "off" before retrying?
Only lazy mechanics say "it must be the computer". Any thought given to holes in either the fuel line or the EVAP vapor line?
Get rid of that stupid extra ground, that guy is trying to cost you money on a computer. If there is a ground problem just fix it correctly, a pin is loose or a wire is broken Pretty easy to test continuity from the case to ground.
Have you given the King Kong treatment to the bolts in the underhood fuse box?
There are a lot of codes that do not light the CEL and are only readable when they occur, live data.

The key tells the BCM to initiate the start process the BCM tells the ECM to activate the starter various sensors on the engine tell the ECM to stop the starter.

no I didn't turn the key to off.
I've sprayed ether down all the visible lines, evap solenoids replaced. all lines on top of the tank appeared fine when i did the fuel pump.
I did tighten up the fuse panel, none were loose but game all an extra 1/4 turn.
I've monitored cam and crank sensor live data, dont appear to be missing a beat.
not sure what other data to watch.

The EVAP & fuel lines gets rusty under the insulation, in front of the driver side rear wheel.
1.4 turn is not enough. KING KONG tight.
