My HHR engine sounds crazy loud
When I drive, the engine sounds really loud. Like a car that doesn’t have a muffler but the sound is coming from the engine. It drives ok, but the noise level is crazy. Where do I start troubleshooting?

I prefer to simply replace the complete down pipe, a little more but just the three exhaust nets at the manifold and the two bolts at the flange.
mandrel bent , full 2 inch ID tube, it helps wake up your Ecotec

To replace just the flex pipe, yes then cut the broken part off and weld or clamp in a new one.

They might, they might not, I just wanted to convey there are more ways to fix a flex pipe.

My flexpipe has failed and I didn't really feel like fixing it myself, but once the exhaust shop quoted me $250 today and talked to me like I was an idiot, I came home and ordered the part to fix it myself. I guess I'll be firing up the welder next week. Best part is that it was $40 on Amazon, but I had points so it only cost me $21 shipped
Funny thing is that I'll pull a tranny out of one of my perfectly running old classics, just because I want to paint it, but when it comes to my daily drivers (like the HHR), I don't even like to change my own oil
