I'm not entirely sure. I have an appointment to have it checked out at Aamco tomorrow. Was just trying to get a rough Idea of what it could possibly be so I don't get ripped off.

Well, I'm still gonna get it double checked tomorrow, but I left a piece of cardboard underneath the car last night, and it's still clean this morning. I'm thinking maybe the last time I got a car wash the undercarriage got wet, and the stains on the driveway are from greasy drops falling off the bottom.

Update: The leak was in fact the oil pressure sensor. I changed it out today.

Now for the bad news, I had the car do the same funky thing when I was getting off the freeway. It was a green light, so I coasted through it, then when I went to accelerate, all it did was rev up and not go anywhere. I took my foot off the gas and it continued revving until I tapped the gas pedal, then it caught and started driving. I'm afraid that's it for this car. I've already had Aamco rebuild the transmission twice, barely over a month ago. I can't keep dealing with this, so now I'm putting her up for sale. It's a damn shame cause I really wanted to like this car, but 3 strikes, and you're out.

If they rebuilt the trans it is obviously not a internal trans problem. Something like linkage, whatever it is AAMCO's problem if they claim to have fixed your problem. I know California has some real enforcement powers. If they actually rebuilt it, not just replaced valves they should have noticed things like the torque converter.

I will bet they just rebuilt the valve body, not the entire mechanical trans.

X2, what Donbrew suspects, they didn’t replied it, they replaced some parts but not all the parts. Take it back again. Or pull over and have it towed to them!

Oh, i can drive it. I drive it every day, but the problem has happened 3 times over the last month, but thats 3 times too many. I paid AAMCO $3800 for it to NOT be happening at all! The first time they rebuilt it, the second and fourth solenoids failed, then they had it for another week when they rebuilt it for a second time. Now I'm gonna take it in to them tomorrow and tell them look, either you fix it, or you give me a full refund. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I really, really like this car. It only has 80,000 miles on it. I've seen posts on here of people with over 300,000 miles on theirs with the original engine and transmission. I feel like this car can last, but the transmission needs to be correctly rebuilt by someone competent.

AAMCO has always had issues like this happening, as far back as the 70's. I really don't know how they are still in business, to be honest...

But if you have a contract with a warranty, and you haven't fallen through some loophole they have in fine print, they have to fix your car properly.

I knew a guy that got a "lifetime" brake job from AAMCO. When he took it back 3,000 miles later for strange noises he didn't mention the guarantee. The estimate was over $800 to fix it. After he waved the guarantee around it suddenly became a simple cleaning and adjustment.

AAMCO is the last place I would consider for repairs.
