Problems/Service/RepairsIf you have a problem with your HHR, want a tip on repairing or performing a particular service to you HHR here is the place to post!
That's what I was afraid of. They already had to rebuild it a second time 3 days after I got it back the first time because the 2nd and 4th gears failed.
Most likely the solenoids failed , very common problem, but transmission shops think it’s rocket science, I always recommend replacing all of them, if you have the transmission side cover off
Thanks for the suggestions guys. The problem hasn't resurfaced, but if it does again, I'm gonna take it back to Aamco. I just have one more question: I've seen posts on here about an ECM update. Is there any dealership around the Los Angeles/Ventura area here in California that knows how to do it? I've called the dealership near my home in Thousand Oaks twice and they've said they would get back to me both times, but never did.
TCM reflash should show if it was done , a good transmission shop can do it! My dealership here doesn’t have anybody who remembers how to use the now obsolete Scan II tool
Hi guys, back again. So I haven't had any more problems with the transmission the last few days. I've driven it a good 150 miles and it's been good. Now today, I notice what I THINK is an oil leak under my car. Also, I'm not sure if this burnt out wire above my starter is dangerous or not, or if it's an easy change. I'll provide pictures, any help is greatly appreciated and will hopefully save money. I'm not ready to give up on this car just yet! The spots on my driveway. Directly under the engine. Burnt out wire above my starter I believe Flashlight is pointed where I believe the oil to be coming from
