to the forum Becky!

I see from your profile that you have a 2007 HHR, and unfortunately there have been problems with the power steering assist motors in the HHR since the first model year.

The first things for you to check are the fuse in position #19 in the under-hood fuse panel, and the fuse in position #1 in the fuse panel located in the passenger side foot-well.

You can find the locations of the fuse panels starting on page 382 of your owner's manual, if your manual is missing just click here and select your model year to download a copy......

Have you had your HHR jump started recently, because that's usually a cause of blown fuses if you find that either fuse is blown. If you haven't had a jump start recently, you're probably looking at a bad power steering motor.

For an accurate diagnosis of a failed motor, head to your mechanic or Chevrolet dealer, the motors are not that expensive if it has failed.

Angry Power Steering Motor / Fuse

I have a 2008 Panel and a 2010 HHR LT -- both of them are having power steering issues. The 08 panel blew a fuse... the 2010 cuts off, a clicking sound is heard, you giggle the fuse (position one the yellow 60 amp) then it starts working again. Is there a recall on these or not?

Also, my ignition switch locked down on my key in the 08, cost me over $300 to repair, just out of warranty. It happened to the 2010 just before warranty went out. What's up with that.

Getting very frustrated with my HHR's!
