No Heat To The Floor

What do I need to check to find out why I have no hot air blowing to the floor when the heater is on the "floor" setting. Is there a blend door that could be acting up or could a fuse be to blame. Defrost and panel vents work fine but the floor is always cold. It's a 2007 2LT with 160K miles.

First check your coolant level under the pressure cap. Then worry about the blend door, etc.

Heater doesn't blow to the floor.

I have the same problem with my 2011. You can hear the fan blowing but very, very little comes out of the floor vents. It has 14,000 miles and the dealer said it is functioning normally??? Some air is forced out of the defrost vent so your head gets warm and your feet freeze. I believe whomever mentioned a "blend door" is on to something but I want the dealership to fix it. Should I just keep complaining?

I've noticed the same thing. Usually, I take short trips and the floor setting just didn't seem to put out a lot of warm air. But this week I took a long trip in cold weather and made a discovery.

I put it on floor and was busy driving so forgot about it for a while, but then I noticed that the floor had gotten very warm. I think it just takes a long time for the floor area to get warm. It might have something to do with the air being pushed out in four directions (two front, two rear and a little defrost) so the floor takes a while to get warm. It helps to put the fan on a faster speed and turn the temp up as well.

Its not like the blast you get from the vents. I don't think there is anything else that can be done about it.

My 2011 does seem to have a cold floor. If you set it to dash + floor the floor goes to almost nothing. Then when I least expect it the whole car will get hot, the coolant temp stays around 192F while moving, the cooling system is full (now). I need to set the fan on 3 when the ambient is 40F in order to feel any heat to my feet, until that hot wave comes along after 120 miles or so.

The old 2008 was not as bad, but same symptoms.

The amount of heat going to the floor seems to be a common theme when it comes to the HVAC system in these cars. This is my first winter with the car, and I live in Wisconsin, so we don't exactly get mild winters. From what I'm seeing this is just a design flaw :/
