no power to scanner

Kind of a strange problem.
My CEL went on last week. I assumed it was the gas cap, so I tightened it, started the car a few times and it went away. A week later, same damn thing.
So I figured I'd borrow a buddies scanner and see WTF was up. plugged it in and got nothing. No power to the scanner.
I was looking at fuses, but ran out of time this morning. ANybody run accross this before>?

The OBDII port is on the same power circuit as the front power outlet (aka cig. lighter).

My ciggy lighter was out too. One of the tiny fuses (15amp I think) in the block under the hood. Pop the plastic cover and there should be a diagram and few extra fuses underneath. #29 if I remember correctly

Your Buddy's scanner may be an older unit without the NEW OBDII "CAN" option.

Yeah, I kinda figured it was a fuse. Got 2 codes out of it...

P0014 Camshaft Position -Timing OVer Advanced or System Performance

P1174 -->Fuel Trim Cylinder balance malfunction.

the P1174 occurred twice...

Any ideas? The P1174 eventually cured itself twice, then the latest one I didn't give much time to let it disappear before plugging it in.

Also, I'm not running premium in the 2.4L... Should I start with that? I heard a rumor they have 2 separate fuel tunes, but that sounds like crap to me...

Me too... I´ve seen the check engine light on and turn off itself seven times since December. Really annoying. I bought a pocket scanner, but nothing appears, just the blank screen. But is interesting that my cig. Lighter is out. I´ll check the fuse today, and i´ll let you know what is in my case.

You might want to go to a dealer and get that fixed for free if your's falls into the criteria in the TSB.
