No power steering, taillights, windshield wipers
No power steering, taillights, windshield wipers
Also no heater controls. Put a new BCM in, programmed and no change.
It all started from the remote wire on aftermarket stereo touched the metal sleeve for split second, no fuse was blown, no damage to stereo or amp
I'm at a loss, thought it was the BCM for sure as I've had similar problems with them in other vehicles in the past. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Did you check the maxi fuse next to the ground lug near the battery?
What metal sleeve?
What exact wire?
Was the radio on?
Where are you picking up power (switched and constant) for the radio? Using a LAN adapter?
Get the OBD codes, only EPA related codes cause a CEL.

I haven't been able to locate that fuse yet, is it a glass fuse or a blade fuse? The metal sleeve is what holds the single DIN radio in the dash. The wire is the remote turn on for a power antenna or amplifier. The radio was off. I used a wiring harness adapter that does away with everything, just basic power for the radio. I have another wrecked HHR, would switching ECM be a possible fix or is that something that requires programming?

I don't know how grounding a dead wire could do anything. If the radio was off the remote on wire would be dead, if anything it would break the radio.
I don't know why you want to blame the BCM. Your reason is bunk.
How can you miss "the maxi fuse next to the ground lug near the battery" ? I don't know how to be more explicit.
The harness has to get 12V from somewhere. All the radios I've seen in this century need constant 12V and switched 12V
I suspect wherever you spliced into for power is the failure point.
All of the fuses that might be involved are in close proximity to each other. On the BCM #19, #16, #15; maybe you diddled with the fuses?
There is no connection between the circuits you cite except ground.

I'm at a loss for a reason for it, the fuse at the battery is good. I have changed every relay with others from another car without issues. The ECM was grasping at air, I don't know what else could have this effect on all these different things. Haven't checked for codes, could that possibly do it? IDK
I got it from my stereo wholesale company, it's the most basic one available. I've got another one, I'll try it. There isn't a relay any place that a relay is located other than the 2 fuse panels is there?
