No Power Whatsoever - key stuck in ignition
Put a battery tender on it, get it charged. If the key won't come out then, take it to the Chevy Dealer, they will replace the ign switch free..
You should have gotten a letter about this special coverage of the ign switch..

The Haynes, I would imagine would not have this fuse, as the FSM barely covers it.
edit: FSM = Factory Service Maunal
edit edit: BCM = Body Control Module
Have you checked ALL the fuses yet?
Searching is hard on most forums. Three letter searches such as FOB fail. We in general tend to use too many acronyms.
Look open the hood put on jumper cables and see if anything happens. I'll bet all will be right with the world. I think the battery is dead ! If nothing happens with the jumpers on then you might have a real prob.
This fuse next to the battery is only for the BCM, the rest of the vehicle is not "Main" fused to the engine compartment fuse box.

Micro switch in shifter assembly on Automatic
I learned the night I had this problem to remove a small panel under the steering column and put a finger up in the hole and push a button to the driver side and hold while you finish turning the key for removal.
I think GM built this problem into the HHR I have read of it many times. I still haven't replaced the shifter assembly , I was waiting for GM to recall the HHR to fix this problem. I doubt they will. I have 102,300 miles on mine now. Change your spark plugs early on I am still on the origionals and the engine is now running rough. Plan is to take it in if changing plugs doesn't cure the problem. I hear it can be the ECM gone bad.

How to power up the HHR so you can get at the battery
Problem with the HHR is the battery is in the back near the rear door. Power locked. Will be a job to get the covers out of the way. You might try hooking jumper cables up to the starter and ground to the body. Better check out where exactly to hook up the hot cable. My guess and it is a guess is the main cable to the starter.Kind of risky getting in there to start it . Try hooking up the hot first then the ground have someone unlock the doors so you can get at the battery quickly. Then jump the battery to start the car to charge up the battery. Hmmmmmm how old is this tread . LOL you probably already got it fixed.
