Not an HHR but still a Chevrolet

I don't have an HHR but a Monte Carlo 2003. My problem is sometimes when I use my turn signal, the signal won't come on and I get a buzzing clicking sound, after a while if I leave it on all my gauges peg to the left and then pop back to normal, and all my warning lights flash and then the turn signals work again. Sometimes this issue will kill the engine and I will have trouble starting again. If I slap the top of the dashboard it will start working again. Has anyone heard of this type of thing before?

Totally the wrong forum. However it looks like you have some sort of short happening - so tear your turn signal mechanism out and check it for problems, as well as the mechanical flasher that is likely under the dash.

Other than that, you are kinda on your own. Check around for a more suitable forum.

ps: its Chevrolet, not chevorlet

The HHR turn signal system is quite different from the Monte Carlo, so the correct forum would be helpful. Try this one

I'm pretty sure Monte Carlo has a flasher module and that is most likely the problem.

I appreciate the responses everyone. I will check the things you mentioned, and I will try and find the appropriate forum.
