As long as you're changing out the coolant(which requires removal of the thermostat to do correctly), you should replace the thermostat also.
Thermostat - (2006-2011 All Models)
ACDelco 131-158 GM P/N 12622410

Yes and don't get roped into going cheap with a Stant or Motorad , they don't open in the time frame parameters the ECM is looking for, also ensure to get the 180 degrees, yes open the box, people do make mistakes returning things!
Been there and had to drive back to the parts palace to get it straightened out, good thing we have 2 cars.

Don't try to gap them, they are correct from the factory.

Check the rubber cap on the t-stat housing, they sometimes get a tiny hole and let steam out so you never notice a drip.
I have always double checked my gaps before installing plugs, once in a while one gets dropped.. What is the correct gap?
Inquiring rednecks need to know..

Here's the handy part number list

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/comm...-part-i-48833/

And a how to for the CAF

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...-change-52300/

Conax, if the gap looks out of whack , return it to get another plug, the wick is fragile and can be damaged easily. I always open the box at the store and check them!

Touching the iridium whisker is a very touchy thing, they break if you look at them wrong. If the plug got dropped the whisker probably broke.
