Hey guys, have a quick question. Does the engine oil pan have a gasket or is it silicone? And what is the torque for the oil pan bolts?

RTV and 18 lbs ft. Allow the sealant to set up, but install the pan within the time given by the sealant manufacturer. There is a tightening sequence in the manual.

donbrew, is there any way to buy a gasket for 2.4l oil pan. Or do I have to go with the stuff that comes out of the tube. I didn't do such a great job last time. I was extremely worried about getting any of it inside of the pan itself after I had buttoned it up.

see that's the thing though it's was done by "professionals" in a factory. Not by a YouTube mechanic on the side of the street lol. But thanks for the info. There's gotta be someone else that makes gaskets for these darn cars!

I resealed mine in my garage, used Permatex black RTV , still no drips!
