Yea, or tell them you will gladly run it hot until it blows, then it will be covered under powertrain...

Cooling fan is not covered by power train warranty.

That's called Owner Abuse and that's not covered either.

Sorry ChevyMgr,

This is the first time since I've been a member (4 years next month) that I believe your wrong.... Feels pretty ****ty to have pointed that out, UGH! Sorry. In my defense I have been wrong on several occasions as an armchair mechanic.

But the proof is in the picture. Fan and Module replaced under Warranty with almost 70K on the ODO. Reason for free.... I *****ed like a spoiled child! I am a firm believer, that it never hurts to argue a bit, when a decent amount of money is involved, and it never hurts to ask, the worst someone can say is no.

You showed us proof that they goodwilled the repair for customer satisfaction, as stated on your repair invoice. It's still not covered by power train warranty.

Yes, you are correct, but it was because I argued that it was required to make the engine work properly. Word it however they want either way, goodwill, powertrain, or whatever it was replaced at no out of pocket expense to me. I really don't care which department footed the bill. Chevy did the right thing to keep a customer happy, and if you can logically argue your point, well then why not? Sorry, all I was trying to do was tell the OP my experience in hopes they would find similar sucess.

Well, they called this afternoon and said there is nothing wrong. Said they drove it and had it running in the shop for a long time ant the hottest it got was 208.

They said if it ever does it again and I am in the area, i should stop in so they can see it.

So, not sure what to do now. I really can't depend on it in this condition. Sad when it is not even 4 years old yet.

I will be picking it up later tonite and see what happens.

I'm just saying.. When I had the problems with my T-stat, I complained about unreliability of it due to that, and said that I would refuse to drive it until it was fixed, and they opted to fix it under power-train warranty.

Brad may say that it should be anyway, but some of the service techs at my main dealership aren't exactly college graduate smart. So they told me it was not covered under warranty.

So, I got it back last night. Drove it to and from work today...15 miles each way...with no problems. The hottest it got was 205.

Took it to dinner tonite. Started out ok. Then, I made a stop and it got up to 228 in less than 5 Min. Left there and it is about 2 miles to the interstate. By the time I got there, it was 235. By the time I got off the interstate....about 5 miles....It was down to 192. Made the 2 mile drive to my house and it was back up to 228. Got out and checked under the hood and the fan was not running. Got up to 235 before I shut it off and the fan was still not on. A/C was cycling on/off but no fan.

So, what do I do now?
