Overheating

So, have had the car back for a couple weeks now. While I have not seen the 235+ temps, I am still not completly happy.
After the car is warmed up, driven for over 30 min, the temp still changes a lot. Anywhere from 192 to 218. Is this what everyone thinks is normal? Or, di I still have a problem? It didn't used to do this.
The new fan definatley runs. Sounds like a jet engine up there.

Funny, the car is so much quieter with out it. Check the fluid levels to make sure they are correct, and you have no air bubbles in the system. Mine changes temp a lot, but I don't think it hits 118. Is your dumbie gauge setting on the fourth mark, as they get too hot it will rise a bit.
When mine varied with temp like that, it needed a head gasket, and that was under the 3yr/36000 mile warranty. 5 months later, it's starting to do it again, and also the airbag warning light coming on with 40,000 miles. But my coolant overflow tank was low, I'd check that again.
If you had this replaced from your local Chevrolet dealership and they used genuine GM parts, there should be a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty on the parts and labor.
