Answering the questions

Ok as for the brand of thermostat I don't know it was done by a mechanic, the water pump and timing chain was done by a Chevy dealer mechanic and as far as I know was only those 2 things done. No I didn't flush the heater core or oil cooler. The radiator and fan were both OEM parts from orielys and my son and I changed it ourselves and used 50/50 mix of dexcool. The stuff done by the mechanics were when my son had the car. I'm buying it from him in the hopes that I can fix it on a budget since I'm on disability. Yes the fan comes on at 215 I believe or when I run the A/C I don't let it get to high because I don't want to risk further damage oh and yeah the heater has stopped putting out heat. There I think I got them all but I'm unable to look while writing this response.

Sorry for your health issues, and thanks for the information, I’m thinking the thermostat might be apart of the problem and the oil cooler and or heater core might be clogged an flushing them could resolve the issue, seeing as the water pump , timing chain and balance shaft chain have been changed.

It is NOT overheating if it stays below 220F.

Oil cooler flush how do you do that I've never seen or done this. I'm thinking of just bypassing the heater core for now since summer is coming. So do you think I should change the thermostat out again? Just a note for whooper yes I appreciate the help and suggestions given, but being new to this it took me a minute to figure out how to get back to people plus I got sick the day I posted it ok I'm diabetic! So Mr whooper just go away I don't want or need your help!!!

Remove the water hoses and flush it out , same can be done with the heater core.

Removing the heater hoses was not easy. The clamps are very difficult to reach, and to remove. Maybe there is a special tool for those type of clamps that would make it easier.

If you do get the clamps out of the way, the hoses on mine were practically welded to the pipes.

I'm going to install a different type of clamp when I reinstall today.

Just a note: next to every post under the poster name is their join date and the number of posts they have made. That is sometimes useful information before telling someone their help isn't wanted.
