I moved the seat almost all the way back and almost all the way down. This has helped some but not completely.More experimentation needed.

i'm 6'2" with a 34-36 inseam and all the models i tested had a sunroof and i didn't have any trouble fitting in and finding a comfy position.

the one think i wish the HHR did, and yeah i know it's not a luxury car, but if it had that seat memory thing. So like if i put my kep in it moves everything to where i want, and then when my wife puts here key in (she's 5'2") it would adjust to her settings. I know there is going to be a lot of seat moving back and forth with us.

When I test drive again, I'm going to pay more attention to where my knee/shin rests on the center console.

A memory for the seat adjustments would be appreciated.I'm sure the BCM has the capacity to handle it.All that would be needed would be a switch(probably usable from another GM car) and the wiring.Programming costs nothing.GM is just too cheap to add the feature.
I've believe I've finally found a comfortable position! It's almost all the way back and down now with only a little upward tilt at the front of the squab.Drove it this way over the weekend and had no leg pain.

Still looking at puchasing a 2009 HHR but recently had to drive a HHR loaner for a week. Center console position in relation to seating is a problem for me if it is an extended drive. I'm 6' -- 30" inseam. I didn't notice it to start but after driving around for the full week my right leg just below the knee was quite sore. Found myself resting my right leg on the edge of the console so my foot was hitting the gas pedal properly. Just part of owning a narrow car I guess. It does make me wonder what will happen when I drive one continually. Many small and some medium sized vehicles with center consoles have this problem.
I wish they would add the telescoping steering wheel option and memory seat. It would allow for a little more adjustment for many. Make it an upcharge....I'd be happy to pay.

The good news is that my leg no longer hurts after driving my HHR.I don't know if the seat may have broken in a little bit or if it's just from wearing different shoes(don't laugh-I got new work shoes and my legs felt better.Never discount that possibility)but everything's fine now.
