P0016 code after timing chain tensioner installed
I got this code p0016 after I installed this timing chain tensioner and don't know why ? The car starts fine no chain rattle runs ok . I got 170,000 miles on her and runs fine. Could it be the soloniods going bad? Any input thanks

I'd clear the code by disconnecting the neg post on the battery for a minute or two, and see if it goes away. It might be due to momentary slop in the chain when the adjuster was replaced, and it had to adjust to pick up the slack.

Thanks whopper I tried to clear the code with a scanner and it came back does it take time for it to adjust ? I mean it runs good no chain noise at start up just trying to get rid of the code , it has anything to do with the soloniods ?anything else , I drove it about 50 miles no problem like I said this light came on right after changing the tensioner . Thanks
I don't think it has anything to do with the solenoids - but i could be wrong. Have you tried a re and re on the current tensioner, or reinstalling the old one (at least temporarily) to see if it clears the cell?
It would be too much of a coincidence for the camshaft position sensor to have failed at the same time I would think. Hey, any chance the connection could have been knocked loose when the tensioner was installed?

my hhr 2007 ls 2.2 do not have them soliniods i checked by the where the tensioner was put in ,i guess i don't have them so now what? this scare me to death ,the engine runs but it does shake at a idle and like i said i got this code p0016 after the tensioner was installed.
It's also possible that the chain jumped a tooth, you would need to pull the valve cover to verify.
This is what happened to a friend, who chainged his and part of the old tensioner was not retreaved.
