P0300
Hi everyone,
I just bought a 2010 hhr to get to and from work and I keep getting p0300 error usually in the mornings. After I start the engine it seems to idle a bit barely hearable while in Park and if I hit the gas a bit it makes it go away , the car works fine I am not a mechanical into person but I have a code reader so I asked the mecanic he told me to add SeaFoam which I did problems still hold light engine is on so I had back to the mecanic to check the plugs and coils which by the way look fine...
pls what what could it be can you recommend me a decent service that can fix my car in Houston maybe?
thanks

If your mechanic can't handle a simple misfire you need a new mechanic, not a second opinion. There is nothing different about an HHR.
The list of things it could be is long. Any good mechanic would know what to do to diagnose it. The guy down the street that does brake jobs in his driveway is NOT a "good mechanic".
If you really think a specialized Chevy Service Center is what you need maybe go to one of the GM dealerships in Houston, GoOgle says there are 3 Chevrolet and 1 GMC/Buick dealers, any of them will be glad to fix the car.

Listing the specific engine you have, the number of miles and the transmission type would help - post an update if you can, along with the grade of gas you are using.

Random misfire usually is an air/fuel mixture problem. Specific cylinder misfires, although easier to pinpoint, usually point to internal problems. Random misfire you may have vacuum leak, fuel system problems, air intake issues. Start with plugs and while you have to box off crack it open and check out your air filter. If a coil was bad, it would point to a specific cylinder (usually) and can be checked by simply swapping the coils around. I had a P0301 code at WOT that would only set as pending and clear itself out; turned out to be a bad coil. But, coil failures are rare. Whatever the case may be, if you find the problem, price match at your local auto parts store with an online retailer! I bought a coil pack for half price that way!
