Problems/Service/RepairsIf you have a problem with your HHR, want a tip on repairing or performing a particular service to you HHR here is the place to post!
2006 HHR 2.2 p0340 just showed up after replacing coil pack and icm. Usually shows up after car warms up. Has the starter run on now . Didn’t before the new parts. Those parts were swapped due to misfire issues when the car warmed up with codes for misfire to match. The p0340 just popped up as did the starter run on.

Are you talking about your car? Who did your repair?

I did my work, yes my car. Replaced ECU and Coil pack do to a massive misfire issue about 20 min into driving as well as misfire codes. The p0340 and starter run on showed after the new parts were in. Never gotten before. The wires look odd but that’s just looking at them need to borrow a multimeter. How ever I find it odd that it started after the replacement.
Who programmed the ECU? Who suggested the ECU was a problem? Or do you mean ICM?
The starter is controlled by the BCM and a relay. The relay is probably bad. Don't hold the key until it start like a 80's car; it only takes a momentary contact to tell the BCM to start the car.
P0340 on a 2006 2.2L means something is wrong with the ICM, either a wire is loose or the ICM is broken.
I did mean icm autocorrect bit me. I don’t hold it.haven’t since the second day I had the car nd realized how it worked. ICM and Coilpack are both new.this started after . I visually don’t see any broken wires and don’t have a multimeter atm. Someone had mentioned a brown and white wire. Don’t see one that color into my ICM. Still have my old ICM I could swap in and see if it changes I guess. I will go do that and let you know
So swapped back to the original ICM. Engin feels like it has a minor stumble, starter still ran on after start. It feels rougher than the new icm. Cleared the codes but haven’t driven it yet to see if the p0340 pops back. My guess is it will if the starter run on points to anything
From what I read the signal from the ICM is how it works ‘shrug. Makes sense though if my signal is intermittent. Bad wire would also explain why more pronounced when it warms up. Basically going from an intermittent signal to no signal with expansion. Not sure which wire I should be checking that on as I don’t see a brown and white one as other places have stated.
