Well here is a thought: they changed the design of the electrical connector in, I think 2009 or 2010. I don't remember your year. If you purchase the new valve the wiring may be different. I know for sure that when you replace it on a 2008 you have to buy a pigtail adapter.

Yes, I had to purchase the pigtail adapter, which btw was almost the same price as the solenoid!! What's up with that?? Anyway, I highly doubt that is the issue. I'm sure they tested the design of the pigtail. I have a call into my mechanic and hopefully he'll be able to test the solenoids to make sure they are functioning correctly.

It is always possible that the connections are bad or the part is bad.

IIRC, They fail open. The signal is normally on (valve closed) then commanded off (valve open). Somebody had a broken wire near the axle.

Have you tried the trusty battery to computer disconnect AKA lobotomy!!!!
Simply disconnect the negative cable at the battery by the spare tire for oh , 30 minutes to reset the computers.

Does anyone happen to have a pic of the o-ring? Or where it goes? Does it go between these 2 parts? I didn't see any on there when I swapped this part. But it was not clicked in all the way when I replaced it...

I don’t see the seal in your photos, perhaps a PO replaced the valve and forgot to transfer the seal.

See the seal on the canister side (left) port above my thumb ? That usually gets tossed with the old part . Careful removing it , at this age it’ll be brittle.

the old one didn't have that. Guessing it was already replaced and they didn't save it

Can I use gasket material? Caulking? Silicon? Or find a similar rubber washer or something? I will try the dealership for this one I guess.
