P0700 code issue
P0700 code issue
Hi all! Hope ing you can help a gal out... I was driving my '08 Chevy HHR (turbo?) on the interstate the other day and the cruise control just quit. When I tried to accelerate to get back up to speed, it was acting like it wouldn't shift into the final gear. As far as I could tell, it was running fine, but running at 3500-4000 RPM as opposed to 2500-3000 RPM. No check engine light, but after I made my first stop and got back into the car, there was. As it happened, I needed an oil change, and there was one next door, so my husband suggested going over there. They pulled a P0700 code, which apparently is a transmission code. After reading other threads here, can someone specifically comment on this? AND tell me if it is safe to drive...
Welcome to the site, according to this the code means there’s something with the TCM or the transmission itself

The oil change guys code reader couldn’t communicate to the TCM to read the exact transmission code.
This code be a result of a loose TCM wire harness or ground wire

If you don't know if it is a turbo or not; it's kind of useless having us playing 20 questions. You are not going to be able to fix it yourself.
P0700 could mean anything, it is very non-specific.
I suggest you find a good transmission shop.
