I know how to resolve this code with updated injectors. But my question is that if I put in the new injectors from 2008 model if I can get away with just swapping and not going to the dealership for the computer update? BTW I have a 2007 HHR with the 2.4.

Assuming the injectors interchange, its a simple "plug and play" deal, no programming required.

But I can't find any interchange info tonight, so check on that before you spend the dough on a set of new parts.

I was able to get my hands a hold of a set of used 2008 injectors fof a really great price. Just trying to figure out if I need to do the reprogram at the same time. Or if I can just get away with doing the swap for now.

It's not a destructive removal, and only takes 10 minutes. Nothing to lose by trying.

Hi didn’t want to start a new thread but I got a 2007 lt with a 2.4 auto and I getting this code and only this code when I check with my scanner .. so my wife put in cheap Casey gas in it and now dealing with this code p1774 .. so I cleared the code put a bottle of Techron and waiting to burn up the gas and put some top tier gas in it like shell and see if it will clear up .. anyway if it is the injectors and if I replace them with the same part no.. do I need it programmed again ? The car only has 116000 and is well kept .. are all AC Delco injectors that year are same ? Is there a number on fuel bar to tell you .. I hate going to the stealership just for programming who knows how much that is ? And one last thing best place to get injectors ?

Have you replaced O2 sensors? If you did; with good quality correct part number?
Could be bad alcohol mixture/contaminated fuel.
Could be a bad coil or 2.
could be a bad spark plug or 2.

I am guessing you heard about TSB 08-06-04-01b but didn't look at it.

I only get the p1774 code only just wondering if it’s bad gas ? It runs ok starts fine and soon as get on the Highway Code sets ..

What it is doing is detecting almost a misfire. The O2 sensor is sensing that 1 or more cylinder is leaner than the rest. The test is very sensitive to the #1 O2 sensor readings.

Replacing it might fix it. Could be flaky wires. That is the upstream sensor. You only have 1 bank, 2 sensors; V8 has 2 banks.
