can anyone out there give me a little insight on a p2138 code ?

car has 123k on it and the dealer said he cant look at for a week..........

also get the engine power reduced message on the display

It is an accelerator pedal position error or something to that effect. Just type in p2138 into yahoo search and numerous posts on that code will come up. Most are not for the HHR but it is a code that is used by most if not all OBDII cars.

We were getting that code intermittently on my neice's 2007 Saturn Sky a couple years ago but never on the HHR. As I recall, it was a bad connection at the ECM/pruge solenoid connection as in the middle link that ChevyMgr posted. Cleaned/dried it with contact cleaner, put some dielectirc grease on it and never had that code come up again. There's a lot of similarity between her Saturn and our HHR in a few areas but the Saturn has had more than a handful of electrically based issues and we've had none with the HHR.

 

its a 2008 with 123k on it....

 

Did u get this fixed? I've had this same problem....comes on all the time and have replaced part twice...still does it....no one can seem to fix it...
