P2176 Engine Power Reduced

Hello, I am the Midnight Wrench. I have done some searching here to no prevail, but am certain that my issue has an answer. I have an 08 HHR w/the 2.2 here that has the dreaded P2176 engine code. I have replaced the throttle body w/a NEW AC-Delco unit w/actuator. I can go in and erase the code, and without turning the ignition off and going straight to start-up, the car runs perfect w/no codes. Once I shut the car off, the codes come back and the engine power reduced mode kicks right back in. I am hesitant to dig into the harness/pin issues that I am reading are semi common in these cars. I`m hoping that some of you have already been through this, and can offer a simple solution, before I take on the thin spaghetti mess. If I must dig into the wiring, where should I dig/and what clips and their location commonly fail first?

Yes I have read that. There are several spots that this issue could be, so I was hoping that anyone that has been through this would direct me to the most common problematic connection/connections and the locations.

More than connector pin problems a chafed wire would be more likely. Follow the throttle body wire and look for places that it may be touching a bracket. Look at the wire right at the throttle body.

Did you have the P2176 before you replaced the throttle body? Curious as to how many miles on the vehicle too. If you have a Tech II have you tried a throttle learn procedure?

Service esc/service traction p2176

Started engine , it went into reduced pwr mode & displayed SERVICE ESC SERVICE TRACTION. Depressed TC switch on console. Engine still in reduced pwr mode, shut it off. Restarted eng, ran OK, but eng warning on. Drove 30 mi w/ eng warning steady on. Parked 15 min, restarted, ran OK, but eng warning still on. Read about causes. Manual said problem could be fuel pressure related & to open gas cap, so I did. Took around blk & eng light went off. Drove 350 mi next day- no problems. Arrived home, parked & unloaded. Went out to pull in garage & eng went into reduced pwr mode & displayed SERV ESC/ SERV TRACTION. Turned TC on/off several times - no effect. Drove ~300 feet - no change. Shut eng off & restarted several times - no effect. Decided to shut off & open gas cap again. When restarted it was OK, eng light was on - same scenario. Drove around blk & eng light went out. Read all posts re. reduced pwr & service ESC/traction. Decided 1st thing was to get code readouts. Went to Brake Specialists. Read 1 code - 2176. Make sense to anyone?
Plan now is to go to dealer to double check code(s). Is the" learn throttle position" procedure something that can be done with out special tools/equipment?
