Yes, the electromagnet is between 85 and 86. The switch is between 30 and 87.

It's complicated because there was a bad fan, and now find that there's another issue. Not to mention that one of the triggers for the fan (AC compressor) is not available. Maybe we should focus on the AC first? Is there a way to trick the ECM into thinking that the compressor is running? I bet there is.

I just realized I have that exact same Centec multimeter. Hobo Freight special. Usually works fine but occasionally does weird things. Don’t trust it. Lost my good multimeter, in the market for a new one.

hobo freight haha, yea it was a handmedown, im already shopping for a Fluke one.

RJ_RS_SS_350: Yes my check engine light is on, een after I cleared it with a code reader, which is another symptom from that video, I already ordered a replacement sensor since they are not pricy and easy to replace, may as well.

i'll see if I can get the AC to work by jumping that relay too in the meantime? I'm going to wire a switch to my dashboard area with that cooling fan bypass to safely drive into town this weekend for an obligation.
and maybe for the AC too if a bypass works, it's HOT here and driving for an hour and a half sucks without AC!
The AC was intermittently working for a few days, before not at all. I do recall that. another symptom.

So now the CEL is on? What is the code? If it is P0128 get a ACDekco 131-158 t-stat and stop worrying about the AC.
ALL codes are important!!

If it’s P0128, change the Dexcool also.

I was using my dads code reader when I was at his place a couple weeks back, so I just ordered my own! should arrive in a day or 2!
that'd be nice if it's just a thermostat replacement for the AC will update when I can!

But it shouldn't disable the cooling fan. I would replace the sensor too. It's right there in the thermostat housing.

But we don't know what codes are present.

New coolant temp sensor just arrived, the magic of amazon! I'll be in a better condition to work tomorrow. i had just ran out of a medication so doing anything the past few days was rough.
I'll be able to read codes on Sunday with my soon to arrive meter or my dad's i'll be visiting. i had to replace these things on my old work GMC 2500 at about this mileage too.
Zeroing in on the problem! Will update asap.

I already have an update, unfortunately. So, i don't know if this is a *duh* thing or not, but, jumping the relay connection , leaving the fan running 100%, for just 12 minutes, when I got to the store parking lot, the cooling fan fuse was blown. So, driving an hour and a half up on sunday relying on the bypass, sounds like I need to add a resistor or rheostat?

*was able to make it back going fast enough to cool the engine.
