Power gain using AC?
The AC compressor runs in recirculating mode, and it also runs when set to defrost. It would be interesting to turn the AC off with the button on the center of the knob, and then see if you get the same results in recirculating, and on defrost.
Yes same result with the recirculate and defrost I’ve been running the heat halfway and recirculate on.
Is the car new to you or did this suddenly start after some work?
So, the behavior is not dependent on the AC button, or on the position of the heater doors just if the compressor is running?
A wild guess: The wire to the compressor is shorting to another wire.
Why run in recirc? If because of allergies, replace the cabin air filter; it probably never has been changed. Heat will mix in all modes.

Might have been mentioned 3 pages ago. Then you have no idea what a previous owner did to the electrical system. The only way what you describe could happen is with crossed wires. Lends some credence to the fuse box getting jolted or messed with. Maybe some yahoo saw something stupid on Facebook.
Is it when the AC button is pushed or any time the compressor is engaged? When in defrost or recirc the compressor is on with no light in the button. I

I just re-read post #1. You say it also runs fine with "85 fuel". Is that 85 octane? I'm thinking you mean e85 (ethanol). It runs fine with e85 with the AC compressor NOT running? This may be the incorrect ethanol percent problem that PulpFriction has had before.

yes with e85 the car runs very very well regardless a lot smoother, quieter, and quicker. The only e85 available is 45 miles in the wrong direction of work and home.
I suppose Saturday I’m going to take a drive and get some flex fuel and see what happens it’s been about 2 months since I’ve used any but I do remember the car running very good.
