Power Steering

Hello, my name is John and I am new to this forum.
I have a 2010 HHR with 83,000 miles on it. Tonight I was driving my car when the "power steering" displayed on the dash, and poof, no power steering. I drove to the nearest auto parts store, and the guy said it probably blew a fuse. he showed me where the #19 fuse was on the right side of the console. The 2amp fuse was blown. I replaced it, only to have it blow again about 10 seconds later. I saw a post about the #1 60amp fuse under the hood. I checked it and it is ok.
Any help would be appreciated....... thx

Welcome to the site. I have seen a bad power steering motor blow fuse #19. Easy way to check is to unplug the power steering motor replace the fuse if it don't blow it's a bad motor if it blows then you need to start looking other places for a short.

Well, I got the motor today. $83.50 with free shipping. I just finished installing it using the link you sent me. (What a lifesaver) Took the car for a 10 mile test drive. So far so good. The next few days will tell.
Thanks again for the help Lucky!!!!!!!
