Power Steering Turns Off While Driving
My HHR's Power Steering Goes Out While Driving.I Have Replaced The Electric Power Assist Motor. Also I Have Checked The 60amp Fuse. It Looks Fine. Don't Know What Else To Do. Does Anyone Have Any Other Solutions To Suggest? Thank You For The Help And Assistance.
Actually test the fuse, it might look just fine but there could be corrosion or a thin fracture in it. Many times it’s due to incorrect jumper cable placement. Also inspect the electrical connector for loose or corroded pins broken wires.
Check the ground wire for the EPS motor
you do know that GM offers an extended warranty on the motor

Do you know about the extended warranty on the EPS? I suspect that you replaced the motor with the old part number and got the same result. Along those same lines. has the ignition recall been done?

I am not an expert and cannot use the correct terms. Just from my experience. My Nissan has an electric booster too. Incorrect steering position sensor adjustment puts the brain of the electric power steering into a stupor. The brain does not understand in what position the steering wheel is relative to the front wheels and simply removes itself - turns off the power supply. After restarting the car, everything returns to normal. If, when you turn the steering wheel all the way to the stop, you feel tangible jolts (the steering wheel seems to be trying to go back), then your adjustment is violated. The reason for the shutdown is this.
