My team and I are happy to help schedule a service appointment for you should you decide to pursue this. If interested, please PM us with your VIN, current mileage, contact information, and preferred dealership. If not, we certainly understand.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Amanda,

Yes. Many times. I did have it "fixed" a couple of years ago. They never worked after then either. They tested at the dealership and said they worked, and when I drove back home, they stopped working.

Found the problem.

One of my shifter cables popped loose when I put the car in reverse a couple of days ago. It popped back in, but apparently not before it dislodged the RAP relay from its socket. The shifter cables run directly underneath the RAP relay which is on the back side of the BCM. When the cable shifted, it knocked the RAP relay sideways; just enough to keep it from energizing.

Glad you found your fix! Mine is probably different than yours, as I have a manual.

Even though both of you have 5 speeds, there are different transmissions and shifters between the SS and regular HHR's.

Hey Kevin,

Sorry to see you had that happen. Did you make them aware when the issue returned? We'd be happy to reach out to that dealership or another one if you'd like. Feel free to PM us with further details as well.
