Problem disconnecting fuel line

2010 hhr 2.2, I'm currently trying to change the fuel pump. The main fuel line that comes out of the tank as plastic and connects to metal is not coming apart. Just need to know how it comes apart. I have fuel line tools that I've tried to put in and it doesn't seem to work. A video I watched
, at 8 minute mark shows them simply pushing in on the yellow part and it comes off. Is that how you're supposed to do it, or do you push in a removal tool? I spent hours trying to get it off, and no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Zack

At 8 minutes the guy cut the old line and put pliers on it and yanked hard.

You squeeze the fitting on the flexable side , see how it’s kinda D shaped, squeeze the two sides and wiggle it off . I spray PB Blaster in to help prevent damage to the seal .

Well I was unsuccessful, I did find a better picture of what it looks like just to be sure the correct fitting is in mind.

It looks just like the yellow one, well more beat up thanks to me. The site describes it as "thumb disconnect" at which point I almost threw the phone lol.

Post #31 and #44 discuss that fitting.

The fitting needs to be press from the rounded top to the flat bottom.
clean out as much dirt as you can

Slip joint pliers work good

Squeeze it and wiggle it after you squirt a lubricant in there

Mine broke the plug on the line to the gas tank. I cant find a replacement line for it anywhere. Is there somewhere I can find a replacement or a patch kit?
The inner part of that connector got stuck to the end of the fuel line. I cant get it off still with it out not that it matters now. You can see in the picture that part of the plug is still connected to the line I took off

My local NAPA store has a book of physical fittings; You take yours in and match it up.
