Is there somethung wrong with using your hands to flex it and your eyes to see cracks.
How did you think soapy water would show vacuum leaks?
The EVAP purge valve is a normally closed valve. The test is to disconnect the tubes and try to blow through it. Usually causes hard start and usually throws a code.

Spray carb cleaner or starting fluid on hoses as its running ( carefully and lightly ) any vacuum leaks and it will rev up.
you can also use a propane torch ( not lit ) it will rev up if any leaks

When I removed the elbow it was dimpled. Perhaps????
the EVAP is closed when I blew through it.

That looks like it wasn’t on properly, wipe it clean and ensure that it is slide on fully and the clamps are firmly tightened.

Done I have not driven it to check codes yet, but the engine is still running rough It seemed to get its raspy tone when I put on the new catalytic converter. I have a video of the engine but unable to post it here Which you could hear it

The hose clamp was installed incorrectly, there is a bump in the rubber that fits into a hole in the clamp.
