radio

Hello all:

I finally have a small problem with my HHR. The radio mutes itself once in a while, and the Onstar woman says she is ready, and when ignored, signs off. This has happened three times. I have done nothing to originate these actions. Before I take the car to the dealer, can anybody tell me if they have had similar experiences and what caused them?

Thank you.

Peter

I have had the radio "self mute" a couple of times, but it was my own doing.

When turning the steering wheel, my thumb was hitting the mute/talk button on the steering wheel (I don't have OnStar so mine is just a mute button).

I didn't even know there was a mute button. I have to use the manual method. However, I have accidentally disengaged the cruise by putting my hands on the crossbars of the steering wheel. I'm not happy with where the cruise buttons are located. I've never had this problem on other vehicles.

I know this seems really simple, but some times even the simplest of things are often overlooked.
If so equipped, this is the location of the mute button.

Thanks folks,

It looks like I am touching that mute switch on the steering wheel without realizing it. I thought I had learned long ago to keep my hands away from where they don't belong. Still learning I guess.

I've hit the mute button on numerous occasions, and never once was I greeted by someone from OnStar.
