ok all after doing some searching ive pretty much confirmed its a t-25 torx screw, after work in the morning gonna change my air filter. im pretty sure the one i have is the original, and my hhr has 71k on it now, 34k when i bought it.

There is an "O" ring that goes in a groove in the cap. Sometimes someone can forget to remove the ring and install the new ring on top of the old one and there won't be a good seal. I think the cap takes a 32 (or maybe it's a 23)mm(can buy one on E bay) socket to remove. Easily done, front of engine(right behind the radiator). Make sure you add oil before you head to mechanic.

another thing guys, just went out and replaced my air filter, with a STP SA10093 it installs backwards the way the stock ac delco filter was installed. pleats are facing towards me instead on inward like on the stock. no other way for it to fit.. am i missing something here?! gee. ive never in my life had so much trouble doing simple maintenance on my car before.. i love my hhr but gee its a pain!

If you read the posts just before yours you'll see that they are still dicussing the oil replacement issue so I don't think that I "need to get up to speed ", thank you very much. Also, I'll post what ever I feel like posting with and "instructions" from you.

If "we are somewhat past that", why are the posts still on oil achnging? I'll post what I want to post without and "instructions" from you, thank you very much.
