Rearview mirror map light button issue

After reading about 6 threads on the rearview mirror map lights,it does not apply to my problem.
The problem is,if you turn on the map light,it is a pain in the ass to turn off. Seems that the push button switch is faulty, and it's one of those newfangled switches that make a contact on a printed circuit board. If you push too hard, the button pops inside the mirror, necessitating a removal, disassembly, and put the button back in place.
What I want to know, are these buttons replaceable,or do I need a new mirror assembly?

I doubt they are sold separately.

You might try a bit of metal foil under the button.

Or clean the contacts with an eraser, most likely a touch of corrosion.
A new mirror or a used one , PM hellshotrod, his is parting out HHR’s

I was rotating rearview mirror when was installing a dashcam.
After that, the mirror became too dark - how to fix it???

What does that have to do with this thread?
You probably flipped the day/night switch. I bet there is a section in the Owner Manual. There it is on page 134 of the 2007 Owner Manual.

It depends on which mirror you have.
Not angry, where did you get that?

This is the autodimming without OnStar. On the manual type it is the toggle in the bottom center

I guess it is broken. The 2 black buttons are supposed to control the lights.

The way they work is by a prism so maybe by manipulating the mirror up/down it will change. I never had that kind of mirror.
