I have a small problem starting ? This is the first time it happened. I go to unlock the door's, I use the remote and they do not unlock. I get right up next to the door and they still do not unlock ? If I hold the button in for about a minute it may unlock them ?
I used both remotes, same problem. I took the remote in for a new battery, same problem. Now today I tried to start my HHR with the remote and it does not start with either one.
Any ideas ?????????????????????????????????????????

 

I had a problem all most like that, I had to get a new fob, one of the contacts was not working lose connection. Dealer replaced free.
It worked, then didn't, then it did, finally they opened it up and found the problem.

 

I agree with Karen, there is a problem the dealer should address. I think your problem is different than her's though since it happens woth both remotes.

 

I would never thought about my problem being with the remote itself ?? I'm going to see the dealer on Monday.

Please do your self a big favor, take both fobs, if they have to recode one, they need both fobs.

 

Today when I went out the back door I hit the unlock button, and they opened right up. I was some 40 feet away. I then locked the locks again and used the remote starter button to see if it worked, low and behold it started this time. I did try the other fob to check it's operation as well. Both are back to working ??????????????????????????????????????????

 

The sensor for the remotes is most likely not in the doors. If you are right next to the doors, the metal of the door may be blocking the signal. Next time it happens, try moving away from the car and see if that helps.

OR... It maybe that posting on https://www.chevyhhr.net/ simply was the solution to your problems.

Guess what, I'm back to no remote's working ?? I still have my appt. for next Tuesday to see the dealer.
OH, this time the service engine light is now on.

Well I spent several hours at the dealers yesterday, two thing's came out of my visit. One they are ordering a new remote. Two they found out why the service engine soon light comes on and then goes off. #1 & @3 cyl. injectors are leaking. Two new injectors are on order.

 

Just got the mail in, got my notice that parts are in.
