Remote Unlock Turns On Headlights

This is related to the ambient light sensor's functioning, something I really wish this car didn't have. (2007 2400 1LT)
Can the light sensor be bypassed, or taken out of the loop?
My biggest complaint is that the headlights turn on unnecessarily when I use the remote to unlock the car. This happens in dim light -- early morning or late afternoon -- or at night and almost always when I don't want the lights to turn on because the car's facing at someone's house or apartment.
It's downright rude.
Yes, opening a front door extinguishes the headlights, but for my money, that's an unnecessary extra operation.
Is this thing on a fuse that could be pulled? Or would messin' with this system cause the electronics to have a fit?

Go thru your DIC and turn the headlights off , directions are in your owners manual.

X2. Read and follow the Owners Manual directions.

It's never a bother helping others.
That's what humans do (or should do)
