Repair advice.

Hello, I'm new and have

a limited amount of mechanical knowledge on my vehicle, I've mostly serviced things and changed parts, so collision is totally new.

From here it looks easy bolt off bolt on. Bumper cover, hood, grill and AC maybe radiator.

Get the insurance co. or body shop to give you a written estimate then figure what you can do yourself. The estimate will list parts and vendors.

My wild guess is about $3000 most of that is paint.

If you can find an HHR in a salvage yard that is the same color, this will save you alot. The google for junkyard parts is Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market You definately need a hood and front bumper cover, maybe a fender and some plastic pieces from the junkyard. Buy the A/C condensor new if it needs it. I know you are trying to show us something in the picture, bu tI just cant quite tell what it is.

Thanks.

Awesome, thanks everyone! The radiator is smashed into the fan, or vice versa... It won't hold any fluid. On rock auto, the parts that could be needed; hood, bumper cover, bumper insert, grill, radiator, upper and lower hoses, fan, coolant recovery tank....i think that's it is like 540 bucks.

Yeah, depending on where you are, you may be able to find all the body parts at a salvage yard and save a lot of that.

I assume that with a high probability is damaged:
Radiator of cooling system - definitely.
Fan - most likely there will be cracks in the fan frame. Also, the headlamp mountings are broken off with a high probability - if so, replacement or action with a soldering iron.
Radiator Support - visible fold in the upper right part.
Filling of the front bumper - destruction is visible through the gap, but you can neglect them, it's just polystyrene.
One can see the lack of fragments on the plastic radiator deflector.
In general, there are many more minor injuries.
Guys are telling the truth. Show your trouble to a specialist.
If you want to assess the amount of damage yourself , remove the front bumper and and headlamps - the scale of the problem will open before your eyes.

Rock Auto is great for everything, except for large body panels due to very expensive shipping.
For example, the HHR hood is $168, but $150 for shipping (to my house) for a total of $318. You should be able to get a hood at a local used parts yard for around $200 (I did). The rock auto hood is probably an imported knock-off that may or may not fit exactly. The junkyard part will be a proper OEM part.

Steve.

Sometimes the yard near me has an HHR or two , last time I was in there , they had 7, 6 had front end damage bumper grille, hood and fenders torn up . The rad, fan and condenser, I’d buy new from RockAuto the hood , grille and front bumper cover , used at your local pick at part.
