right front wheel area thumping under hard braking
right front wheel area thumping under hard braking
Okay here is the deal.
When I was driving on the highway yesterday, my hhr ls started making a thumping noise when I press the brake pedal moderately hard. It sounds like a thumping coming from the front right wheel well, but it's only intermittent.
any thoughts are appreciated
Thanks

Does it make the sound when the brakes are hot or cold?? If it only happens after the brakes have heated up – then you might have a rotor that is starting to warp. Another option would be that you have a brake pad or a caliper not working properly.
Do you get a slight pull to the right in the steering wheel along with the thumping? If so I would most likely go with a caliper not releasing or not working properly. One note - I had mine in for a hub bearing assembly replacement. When they went to take the calipers off - the threads in the caliper came out with the bolt!! They say corrosion - I say not install properly in the first place. Good luck
