I recently put a different headliner in my 08 hhr and pulled the seats out at the same time to clean and shampoo the carpet. Ever since then the service air bag message is on and the symbol is lit up on the dash. I checked the wire harnesses under the seat, disconnected the battery and pulled the fuse to try and clear it. Besides taking to a dealer any ideas how to fix it mysef?

 

There should be sensors that un clip when you removed the seats. They sense weight on the seat to activate the airbag....I would check there first
