Just a quick question. I have a 2006 HHR LT and I am having the pin issue in the shifter where I cannot remove the key from the ignition without using the release under the steering wheel. I am looking to replace the assembly and want to see if I could put a 2007 or later instead of 2006?

 

according to this search all years have the issue, have a read and order the kit to fix it from Dorman

i have the shifter assembly from my 2008 , it still works if you're interested. I can sell it cheap to you instead of you buying a brand new one. I have had no issues with this shifter, i just changed it so i can have the leather boot. Let me know if you're interested :)
