Exclamation Side Air Bags on 2007 HHR

Air bags deployed and caused loss of eye sight when they thrust my glasses into my eye. Concussion and neck abrasion when couldn't undo seat belt. Just pulled off road and ran over some rocks and air bags went off.

Anyone else out there have airbag issues????

If this really is true, that last thing you should be doing about it is joining a website to ask questions about it.....seriously?? When you say "loss of eyesight" do you really mean "obstruction of vision"? Two totally different things.

My side curtain bags deployed when I went off the road on a embankment, the car thought there was a rollover event.

Hard to believe the side curtain bags could hit you in the face. I didn't even know they deployed for a couple of minutes.

I have an 07, it doesn't have side curtain air bags , but that could just be the model.
So why are you asking about this? Just curious.

Since this thread has nothing to do with any recall it has been moved.

There was a recall in one year for the side curtain airbags, involving a bad connector I believe. If that's the question you could check your recall status.

https://my.chevrolet.com/web/portal/_warrantyandrecalls just put your VIN in the box, no need to give any other information.

She's (or she was) a moderator, right? As I recall, she lives up the hill not far from me and she had an animated cat in her avatar. Haven't seen her here for a while.

Thanks for relocating it Don, I was going to do that, but the phone would not stop ringing today.

To the OP, I would suggest contacting Chevrolet directly at 1-(800) 222-1020, their Customer Service office is open from 9a-9p Monday thru Saturday.

Or contact your dealer.
