Something wrong?

I'm a Marine and another Marine that is savvy with cars took a look at my car and he shook the front of my car and said my arm bushings may be bad because it moved too much and had too much play. I took it to a mechanic and they said only the back lower ones were bad and I can't take my car in to get checked out again because I don't have the money for it. I can't seem to google anything either I haven't found anything to point me in the right direction and I don't feel anything really wrong when I drive it feels smooth but my wife says that we can feel bumps more while driving. I'm no good with cars so I don't know what is wrong or what could be wrong so just wondering if anyone could know what might be wrong?

When you say the second fellow said " only the back lower ones were bad", did he actually say the "lower control arm rear bushings are bad", or did he say the "rear control arm bushings are bad"?

If we are talking about the front suspension it is called "lower control arm rear bushings" and there is a lot about that on this site. For instance:https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/%22h...er+control+arm

There are bushing in the rear end control arms also.

Sounds to me like auto repairs are out of your expertise, so you should rely on a mechanic.

You do know the car will shake side to side, front and back due to the elasticity of the tires?

You can't tell unless you get actually under it and look for play.

Did the person get under it and look, and see the arm moving at the back bushing?
