only have had mr 07 1lt 2weeks with 500 miles on her and today while on roadtrip thu the wv hills started hearing a rubbing sound or sqeaking noise from behind drivers dash and the steering colum
hearing it as i go around turns and when braking

Have the dealer check it out. There was a TSB on the 2006 HHR for the steering shaft (had mine replaced)

well took her to the dealer and they are gonna put in a new steering shaft
only 600 miles on her i hope this is the last problem
1 day and i miss my hhr

well got my hhr back today they replaced the steering shaft and did something with the vents
got in it found 2 screws in the front seat they forgot to put back in and console where the fuses are is loose
plus scrapes and cuts in the plastic under the shifter
looks like a gorilla put it back together
here i go back to the dealer

Only posting this because you state your going back to the dealer........

You didn't point this out to SM before leaving?

When I had the sunroof track replaced in Dory, first thing I did when picking her up, while at the dealer, was to try it out. When the wind screen didn't pop up, the SM knew about it right away, and had it fixed inside of 15 minutes. Saved myself a return trip by notifying them right away.

i would ov but i picked it up after closing on friday
i will be there bright and early monday
the techs did a very bad job
